At the 74th Annual meeting of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) recently held in Las Vegas, it was announced that Jeffrey A. Greenberg, MD, will enter into presidential line. Dr. Greenberg will serve initially as the 2nd Vice President 2019-2020, as the 1st Vice President from 2020-2021 and will then serve as President of the ASSH  2021-2022.

The ASSH was established after World War II by a group of surgeons from the armed forces. They wanted to build upon  the knowledge that they had gained while treating hand injuries for soldiers so they planned an annual meeting to continue the exchange of information and explore how to best care for injuries and conditions of the complicated and delicate hand. Since 1946, ASSH has grown from 35 surgeons to over 3,800 members spanning the entire globe who are all dedicated to advancing the science and practice of caring for your hands and arms. The ASSH dedicates itself to supporting the practitioners of hand and upper extremity surgery, hand research and education and global outreach missions providing care to underserved patients.

Dr. Greenberg exemplifies the ASSH standards and the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center could not be prouder of him and this outstanding achievement.
