More About Dr. Fouch

When did you know you were going to be a healthcare provider? (or why did you select a career in healthcare?)
I have several nurses in my family, but growing up with horses, I wanted to be a veterinarian since I was little. It wasn’t until my sophomore year in college that I decided I liked the medical aspect of both animal husbandry and human care, but there were more opportunities with people, so I changed to nursing.
What inspires you about your work?
The people! I have thoroughly enjoyed engaging with my patients and helping them understand what they are going through. I feel we, as providers, can sometimes take our experiences for granted and forget that most of our patients have never experienced what they are going through before, and it’s scary.
How would you describe your approach to patient care?
Open. I am willing to do what it takes to help our patients through their process of healing. If it is finding out information or helping make a referral, I am happy to help.
