Since our inception in 1971, Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center has grown to become the largest free-standing facility in the world specializing in complete care for problems and injuries related to the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Our board certified orthopedic surgeons are leaders in their field and have pioneered surgical techniques and treatments that are utilized and taught throughout the world. They are also dedicated to education, with a focus on teaching future surgeons through our formalized fellowship program.
Together, our multidisciplinary healthcare team will work with you to provide individualized solutions and cost-effective, realistic treatment plans to meet your patients' needs. Our goal is to reduce the risk of re-injury and help them return to their daily activities as quickly as possible.
How to Refer a Patient to The Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center
If you would like to refer a patient to Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center, call our office at (317) 875-9105 or (800) 888-HAND and select option "8". Our patient representatives will work with your staff to schedule an appointment. To expedite the referral process for new patients, you can fax your patient demographic information sheet to (317) 872-1992. Please include a contact name and phone number, and we will call you with detailed information regarding the appointment.
In order to accommodate you and your patients, we will provide same-day appointments. We also provide a same-day emergency clinic, enabling patients who have emergent problems or injuries to come to our center without an appointment and be treated by one of our surgeons. This clinic operates Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For patient emergencies, call one of our two numbers noted above and select zero. Our surgeons are always on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergencies.
Dictation and Reporting
We will work closely with you and your staff to ensure timely communication regarding your patients' care at Indiana Hand to Shoulder center. Dictations will be sent to you in less than 48 hours of seeing your patient.
We accept most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. For specific questions regarding health insurance plans, please contact us at (317) 870-5207.
Physician Education Opportunities
Our orthopedic surgeons are committed to providing ongoing education. In addition to their formalized fellowship program, they conduct customized onsite educational programs for referring physicians. Dedication to teaching and providing higher education is at the epicenter of Indiana Hand to Shoulder's vision. Our surgeons, occupational therapists, and other team members regularly conduct symposiums, lectures, seminars, and presentations for other physicians and healthcare professionals on topics related to the upper extremity.
